NEHI Boys’ Soccer Finishes History Making Season

The Boys’ Soccer Team improved drastically this season with a 13-2 record and advanced to the regional finals for the first time in school history.  The perseverance  and determination of the players allowed them to make it to the final eight.  As a team they became stronger and closer which resulted in them making it this far.  Senior Captain Ervin Ikanovic said that him practicing and believing in himself made him better at what he does and as a captain. At regional finals, the Vikings actually had a lead over Venice in the first half 2-1, but then Venice scored 3 unanswered goals to win 4-2 in that turned out to be Head Coach Thomas Blauvelt’s final game. The long time leader of the viking Soccer Program is retiring from coaching. He would of retired sooner but came back because of how much this group of players meant to him.
