Students bounced off the walls of their homes after finding out about a sporadic five day weekend. Hurricane Hermine just so happened to strike the Bay area just before a national holiday celebrating all of the U.S citizens’ hard work . For some, Hermine meant more sleep, arts and crafts, playtime with the dog, throwing coins into the new pond, and extra study time. “We had a flood but it wasn’t bad only up to our ankles.” For others, it meant cleaning up water leaks inside the house, watching horrendous floods gulp up the tar of the streets, cleaning up fallen branches, evacuating ,and tragically moving out for good. will this historic event ever come again? “ What storm? We didn’t have any storm,” Teacher Mr. Towns said.
