As the Viking stadium filled with Red and White, the Varsity Football team was fired up from the very beginning. With a win last week against Dixie Hollins, the team was hungry for another one. Although there were no points scored in the first quarter the team brought in the points during the 2nd and 3rd. The 4th quarter the vikings ran out the clock on the Largo Packers with a close score of 21-20.

During the first quarter Senior Keith Jackson recovered a on side kick but offense failed to capitalize and punted quickly to Largo. After trading punts, Largo drove down the field and scored on a 1 yard run to make it 7-0. In the second quarter Largo struck again with a long touchdown pass to make the score 13-0. Northeast finally got on the board with a 5 yard touchdown run by Senior Shaquan Johnson. Largo Answered with a 15 yard touchdown pass to build their score to 20-7. As the first half was wearing down Northeast, Johnson was able to score again to leave the halftime score at 20-14. Third quarter came about and resulted in a touchdown by Freshman Khaishef Edwards. Northeast showed their defensive nature by not letting the Packers score at all in the 2nd half. The night wore on and the Vikings were not giving up yet. Edwards stole a interception and had a touchdown pass that put them in the lead for good. Johnson had great runs and wore out the clock to make the final 21-20. Johnson rushed for 200 yards to bring his season total over 1,600 yards.

Monday after the big Homecoming game Head coach Jeremy Frioud said that “These boys had a outstanding game and in the end, we were just tougher than them.”

According to Frioud “This is the happiest i’ve ever been at a high school football game!”
