Northeast ate their Wheaties this week. The Flag Football Team and Baseball Team both clinched their fourth straight district titles and Sophomore BJ Miles placed 5th in the state in discus.

The Vikings concluded a solid sports year with more titles to the trophy case. The Flag Football Team started things off Thursday Night by edging out another Pinellas flag football power Tarpon Springs, 14-13. By winning that game, the girls will now host the regional quarterfinal of the state playoffs.

The Baseball Team didn’t have to sweat out their district championship game as they dominated Sunlake 7-0. This was not expected by many outside of the baseball program as many felt with the loss of so many seniors that the streak of district titles would come to an end. The team not only dominated last night, but dominated district play with only one loss. The team will host Brandon this week in the regional quarterfinal.

Miles, in his first full season throwing, capped off the season with his best throw of 162.5 feet, placing 5th in the state and the top Sophomore in Class 3A. Miles started the season throwing only 108 feet, so this has become one of the biggest improvements of a track athlete at Northeast in quite sometime.
